chipboard

The chipboard is a product made of particleboard, such as sawdust, which is compressed with resin or glue. The process of chipboard production is that the wood waste from wood is transformed into wood chips and then after gassing and homogenization, they are glue and heat pressed. This product is placed under the compression process several times to combine fine wood particles and glue. The final composition is in the form of a liquid which, after compression, forms a sheet of balanced and uniform weight. These sheets can be used after cooling and smearing.

Advantages of chipboard

The price of chipboard is cheaper than other wood.
When the appearance and strength of the wood is important, the chipboard is a good option for replacement with other wood.
The chipboard has a very light weight and is therefore more comfortable to use than other wood.
This product is available in plain sheets and can be decorated with melamine sheets.

Disadvantages of chipboard usage

The strength and resistance of the chipboard is low and does not have a high bearing against heavy load and pressure.
In the manufacture of chipboard chemicals, this does not make the chipboard environmentally friendly.
This product, if subjected to moisture, is swollen and flaky and its color changes. Therefore, the use of chipboard in wet environments is not appropriate.

Types of chipboard based on the construction method

Particleboard made from press plate

In this method of production, the particle size of the wood boards is arranged. This product is categorized as single-layer boards, triple-layer boards, multi-layer boards, and non-layered boards.

Particleboard made from pressed casings

The difference between this type of chipboard and the chipboard is made using a web page press, in the form of a press plate. Molded press plates are deformed, curved, prominent and profiled, and are the result of creating boards in a variety of shapes.

Chipboard from roller press

In this method, the particle and adhesive mixture passes through rollers that have a rotary motion and are adjusted to a thickness. Using this method, laminate, three-layer, single-layer and non-laminated board can be produced.
